To support the work of the signal mechanics for testing, alignment and simple repairs of the SE-227 and SE-412 radios, the responsibles at the Eidgen. Waffenfabrik Bern developed a simple test set suitable for field service.

The T-114 test set is designed for measurements on the SE-227 (the American PRC-77) and SE-412 (the U.S. VRC-12) radios. The 27.5 x 19.5 x 19 cm metal cabinet with a removable cover has a weight of 5.8 kg and the entire test set can be stowed in a canvas bag with a carrying strap.

The T-114 essentially consists of an R.F. signal generator that covers the military VHF band, the signal output can be selected as unmodulated or modulated (also with 150 Hz modulation to check the function of the squelch of the SE-227/412 family).
