Operation
The battery-operated T-104 test set developed by Autophon is used for maintenance and alignments on the Autophon SE-101 / SE-102 radios. In addition to a RF generator, that can be modulated at 400 Hz, it also includes an attenuator for determining the output power and a tube voltmeter and ohmmeter for measuring the plate and heater voltages, among other things.
The set can be used on channels 23, 45 (SE-102) and 45, 67 (SE-101), i.e. on the upper and lower corner frequencies of the two wireless sets.
For practical use, the test set is connected to the radio set using two multi-pin cables (the power cable and the control cable); the set to be tested can be set to transmit or receive mode using the „transmit“ and „receive“ switch on the test set. The pot-shaped artificial antenna is connected to the antenna connector of the set to be tested and connected to the T-104 with the antenna cable; the Rf oscillator can be activated with „Oscillator“ and the signal is modulated at 400 Hz with a modulation depth of 15 % with „Modulator“ activated.
The measuring instrument can be used to measure DC voltages of 2 V, 20 V and 200 V and AC voltages of 2 V and 20 V; resistance measurements with three ranges are also possible. In the „Int.“ position of range switch 2, the measuring ranges of range switch 1 are activated. This can be used to measure set-specific plate and heater voltages, plate current and modulation depth.
The functions and test procedure are described in Regl 65.14.
