Equipment

P-732: Sighting deviceThe P-732 / Plath SFP 5000 system consists of the Plath SFP 5000.17, the main component with receiver and visual bearing indicator using a round cathode ray tube DP 10/14. A round bearing dial is manually aligned with the maximum deflection on the bearing indicator and the bearing is output digitally.

For frequency selection, the frequency decade FDK 5001.7, the frequency selecting unit FWG 5000.1 and the tuning unit AG 5000.16 are required for the direction finding system. The tuning unit was later replaced by the control panel AG 5002.

This allows the frequency to be entered directly via a keypad or set in 100 Hz steps using the tuning knob. The display unit alone does not have a frequency input or tuning facility.

The 8/16-fold U-Adcock antenna AK1200D from Telefunken, whose inner base has a diameter of 8 m and an outer diameter of 36 m, is used as the direction finding antenna.
