SE-203 Radiovox; manufactured by Autophon AG, Solothurn.
In the early 1950s, Autophon developed a frequency-modulated radio system for the communication between the aircraft command vehicle (FLEIW), the aircraft guidance post (FLEIPO) and the central aircraft control. It was based on a very similar police vehicle station.
The set saw mobile use as SE-203/m in the Mowag aircraft command vehicle (FLEIW) or fixed use as SE-203 in the mountain stations as VHF relays.
The station consists of one transmitter S 78 BU and two receivers E 78 BMU. For the mobile variant, the control unit K 78 M is used, the control unit K 78 F is used in fixed installations. The station could be remotely controlled via a cable with a length of up to 50 m.
Around 1951/52, Autophon developed the VHF radio station Radiovox, which was also used by police stations and saw military use with the Air Force.
The station was acquired by the Air Force in 1952 to be installed as SE-203/m (12 units) in the Mowag aircraft command vehicle (FLEIW) or for fixed use as VHF relay station in the mountain stations: SE-203 (6 units).
